After I dropped from 2 to 0 kids last year at my place, we aren't even bothering putting on the lights or putting out a pumpkin this year.

I hope we get tonnes. Last few years we got over a hundred. We live near some family style apartments and I hope all the kids come our way. I love Halloween.

Yeah, my kids are too old these days, they go to parties rather than trick-or-treating, but we live on a main street so we hand out candy.
I'm not big on Halloween but I'm also not a Debbie Downer. I'll give the kids their damned candy.
"What are you dressed as Mister?"
- "Your dad! Now get off my porch!"

We're letting our kids go trick-or-treating with some of their friends for the first time instead of with one of us. They're pretty excited. No adults to slow down the mad pace of their candy gathering.

We were going to do that, but myself and the other dad enjoy going for a walk and having beers.

Hmm, beer. I may have to reconsider. Though on a night like tonight hot chocolate and Bailey's might be more appropriate.

What are their ages? I like dressing up and going around with my kids (9 & 10), but I can't imagine they'll want me around much longer.

9 (twins). Their friends are both 9 too. I've set out a route that takes them back to our place for a check-in, to a friend's house who will call me when they arrive, and then to my parents' place, where I'll be waiting to escort them on the final leg back home.

^^^ Hey, at least we're letting them go out trick or treating by themselves. Not many parents of 9 years olds these days do. Next year the leash will be off.

Yeah, I think it's cool you're letting them do that.
Here's my brag for the weekend. I let my 9-year-old go to Safeway by himself to pick up cucumbers and dijon mustard. Dude came back with the groceries and a slurpee from Mac's, which made me kind of proud. He was super stoked to have pulled it all off, too. I don't imagine the cashiers see many little kids like that getting a weird assortment of groceries.

Ditto. So few kids making it through our complex to begin with, when it dropped to zero last year we didn't see a point this time.

Wow, very surprising to hear they participate in Halloween in Mongolia. It isn't really a thing in Australia although in recent years there has been an increase in parties and trick or treating. There has also been an annoying backlash against Halloween from those who see it as an "American" tradition and want no part of it. Hopefully by 2106 it is popular here though, I would love for my daughter to have the same candy procuring opportunities I had.
To answer the OP question, in my 7 years here I have had a total of 2 trick of treaters. I wasn't expecting them and had dig around my fridge for a can of Fanta and a pack of M&Ms haha.
