Wireless, and can monitor the battery and automatically disconnect when low. Not sure the price or where to get it in Canada.
So I went to princess auto thinking I was going to cable a switch to my glove box, but they had this there for $160. Cheaper than a trip to the garage! Haven't installed it yet but it looks super easy as it gives you two posts to monkey onto the positive. Comes with two key fabs. Might recommend this to others as a very handy disconnect, or a battery saving security system lol. It comes with a disconnecting manual button as well, so just leave that off and then it's just keyfab only at that point. Thanks fuzz!

Coolest part is AMA just gave me a new battery, lol. I probably won't plug in all winter now

Cool. Does it go on the positive or negative though? I would do the negative myself.

And sorry, what do you mean about not having to plug in? My pet peeve is about people not knowing what a block heater is or does.

It says positive actually, it has a chip in it and will disconnect also when it reads 12 volts. My car is used to abuse. But has generally been a good starter (there was one point I just had street parking and never plugged in). Also my car is from waterloo and believe it or not, no frost plug.

*also it needs to be grounded itself, maybe speaking to your question about the positive post

Update, just installed it and the keyfab system works perfectly. Just have to hit a button to convert my speedo from miles to kilometres every time now (factory settings are in miles)

I have two vehicles at work that could really make use of a gadget like this. Thanks for the info

Took me an hour, I had extra cable so it didn't really cost that much.
My 2009 Ford Focus had an aftermarket remote start also and did the same thing.
A mechanic found that it was the trunk light that stayed on all the time.
