Nah, its not goal-tending... Team in front of the goalie(s) are really struggling.
Every game has been rough, including the game they won.
To many penalties, no power play what so ever, top line is in a funk, lots of give away and way to many mistakes,,,

Looking at Elliott's career stats it does. He went from waiver eligible to setting a record with best save % after joining the Blues.
Hitchcock's system badly inflates goalies numbers. Please see Elliott, along with Mason and a former Flame, Checkmanek.

But that makes Bishop a better goaltender on the Flames how?
Over the last 5 years, Elliott has among the best (if not the best) home plate SV% in the league. He's stopping high quality shots with more consistency than any other goaltender.
How does Hitchcock's system help Elliott save more high quality scoring chances than any other system? There is no logic here.

Ya so instead of being a .930 goalie on the Blues he is probably a .920 goalie on an average to decent team and yea a sub .900 goalie on this Flames team which has been brutal in front of him. He's better if he's on any of the 29 other teams right now.

If it's longer than a few games in the press box then I agree, but if it's just one or two it doesn't hurt to have him watch the game from a different vantage point.

Might as well send him down. Bring him in next year, with a new and better coach in place.

Gulutzan says the #Flames will likely start Brian Elliott tomorrow in Chicago, but no final decision yet.

Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan expressed his frustration with the "crap" that Gaudreau took last night.

Interesting that Gulutzan is talking about making better, quicker decisions on the penalty kill.

The pk is terrible also. No idea when or how to pressure puck. The strategy looks like it's hoping the pp will pass around the perimeter for 2 mins while zone time is easily allowed to establish.
Coming out even on the special teams battle would make the pp deficiencies palatable.

Maybe someone asked him about the PK so that's why he talked about it?

Yes, my understanding was he was given the option to bring in his own assistants. Tre and him cooperated on the search, but ultimately it was his call.

Nobody knows for sure. From what I understand, people were surprised we hired 2 assistants/associates this off-season. People were assuming either Jerrard or Cameron, not both.

I absolutely hate how Tkachuk is being mismanaged. He was the only player that gave a damn in the Buffalo game and the only reason why we even have a win, so lets sit the 19 year old instead of using him. Having him sit one game is one thing, having him sit two games while we use guys like Bouma instead is ridiculous.
The Flames are fast becoming the Oilers with this reincarnation as a coach (great gif from del preston).

I think management is making the call on Tkachuk and not the coaching staff. He will be going back to London soon.
