Versteeg

Hamilton (if only because because of the lofty opinion some people have of him, but not because he is bad)

Elliott

Another vote for Bennett. I get the be patient part of it and the hope that the highest draft pick the Flames have ever had will be great but so far the hype is outshining the play. Maybe this year he gets it and we were just spoiled with Monahan being so great so early so the expectations for Bennett are sky high.

Ferland. Even I fell for it last year, but a lot of people were expecting him to play on the 1st line last year, and possibly even get 20 goals. Expectations has tempered in that regard but some people still expect him to go out and crush everything in site on every shift.

Wow, people actually list Monahan as OVERrated. For a young first line centre, sure seems like he takes a huge of amount of crap around these parts. During the Johnny wait, seemed like a strong proponent thought he was a glorified second line centre whose point totals were inflated by Johnny. Doesn't seem overrated to me.

If we're being honest, there was a huge push to consider Gaudreau an 8 million dollar player and someone who would challenge for the art ross. Not gonna say it won't happen, but until he does it, that definitely seems like the biggest reach for a Flames player based on what they have done to date.

This board: Brodie.

That doesn't even mean that I don't think he's awesome, just mean most on here over-rate him big time. He's one of the "can do no wrong club".

Agree with this. I was astonished how many people wanted him on the 1st line.

I won't mention any overrated players because that just leads to bashing but I will mention Backlund as the most UNDERRATED player on the team.

I'm with you. Frig this negativity.

My most underrated players on the team so far this season? It's a trio.

Alex Chiasson - probably our most consistent forward through the first 4 games.

Matt Stajan - he's looked like a good 4th liner under Coach Gully so far. Which is a nice surprise, and "win" for the team. He didn't look like an NHL player under Hartley.

Matt Tkachuk - He won us our first game of the season in my eyes. His hits, and his goal in the 3rd period turned that awful hockey game around for us. It's been a learning process for him, but to have that sort of impact in only your 4th NHL game? It's a good sign.

Wotherspoon. Easily. Each season we get to hear of how he should be on the big club ahead of guys like Engelland, and every year people getting upset that he gets sent down. He's been surpassed by Kulak already on the prospect chart, and soon to be surpassed by Kylington and Andersson.

In the meantime every time he gets called up he is mediocre at best. He is the 2016 version of Max Reinhart. He needs to use this year wisely and work on his game, or else he will likely be without a contract from the Flames next year.

To be fair, none of us were really that upset when Wotherspoon got sent down this year, we all kind of expected it.. Now the grossmann signing on the other hand, THAT's when we all got upset (rightfully so)

Especially since the game has passed Grossmann by. In fact, the game has passed him by since 2 years ago.
