Good thing Tampa won. Brutal call on the Trochek goal.

Edit: Unless I'm totally crazy but I thought the player had to be moving forward at all times too..?

Nope, just the puck. I thought it went backwards at first too, but the overhead view shows it moving almost completely laterally, but with a slight forward momentum, hence why Trocheck was allowed to pick it up again and shoot it.

Weird play for sure, but by the letter of the law the refs were technically correct, the best kind of correct.

Ducks 0-3-1 to start the season.

That's nice to see.

Hopefully the Flames don't do that too.

Hawks had a 4-0 lead over the Flyers late in the 2nd; now 4-4

Flyers scored 4 goals in about 5 minutes

The Blackhawks recover and now lead 6-4.

The Oilers had a 3-0 lead and the Hurricanes have scored two quick goals, 3-2 now.

Scoreless in the Canucks game.

After watching this season so far, I must not have any idea what deserves a penalty shot.
The calls are so inconsistent. touch a players hands, its a penalty shot? Trip a player no penalty shot?

C'mon Blues, finish these jokers off. I can't stand the thought of this garbage Canucks team being undefeated.

Canucks are playing such rope-a-dope hockey this season.

Man, Canucks score despite Tarasenko really working hard on the backcheck.

Why can't we be playing them in Anaheim while they're in one of their free falls?

11,061 the attendance in Ottawa tonight. Yes, Coyotes on a Wednesday night, but that's Islanders-esque.

Flyers D was AWFUL, Provorov, in particular, had a bad night...-5 and two turnovers that led directly to goals against...Neuvirth was in net for the first 4 goals, getting chased after Hossa's 500th, Mason came in and gets tagged for the loss, as the Flyers tied it at 4, then their D collapsed. Really wasn't the goaltending that was that bad, too many odd men rushes against and bad d-zone turnovers.

'Hawk PK is still scuffling...less than 50%, on the year.

So Canucks are 3-0 and haven't led for a second.

I figured there was no way Vancouver finishes higher than 29th in the NHL. But they are playing like they want that vaunted 17th place finish.

So I was the Sharks @ Rangers game on Monday night at MSG.

A couple of guys from Edmonton happen to be sitting right beside me. They were just off a plane from JFK (one of the dudes won the trip).

Nice enough guys, we chatted, they ribbed me on the Oilers taking two from the Flames.

But they were in over their heads. One asked me, "So, are we in Manhattan??" LOL.

Anyway, they said they had tickets for this Devils game.

And Hall scores 2?

Schadenfreude, indeed.
