Why is this news?
Did Canuck fans revel in Linden Veh being sent down?
He signed a 2-way deal if I recall & correctly they just re-signed Rakkel?
They fact that someone thinks they need to make hay from this says more about them than it will ever say about Mason Raymond.

I always thought Locke to be a disgruntled 40-something with quick wit, a way with prose and attention to detail

Hmmm...
Pressed for insight into the stormy relationship with the skipper, such as the first signs of trouble, Raymond declined to provide details.
“I’ll leave it there,” he says politely. “What happened, happened. There could be many things. You could point the finger a million ways. But, at the end of the day, I’ve got to take responsibility myself.”

Mind posting a link with that? Was that the original interview where he blamed Hartley or when he had time to think about how he was looking like a whiner? Because in his first interview he said Hartley was his biggest obstacle.

Raymond has had Spengler cup written all over him for a while now. Can't wait to see him join other former Flames greats like Hnat Dominichelli and Matthew Lombardi.

It's odd sometimes how it can all fall apart for a player. He's got some good tools, but just couldn't bring it all together post-2011. I don't feel sorry for him by any stretch, but he is done.
I wish him well.

A broken back can do that to a guy, though he might have been trending this way any.
I wish him well also

People weren't exactly ragging on Ference, who was a dirty, overpaid Oiler who had a people lame career other than one or two seasons. But people were like "he's a hometown hero!"

I always thought it was that the game caught up to Raymond. At his prime effectiveness, he was one of the best skaters in the game, then all of a sudden, like 2 years later, everyone was the same speed. No plug, slow dmen for him to burn around anymore.

He is on unconditional waivers today, which usually means termination of contract.
Likely has a Europe deal that will pay him more than the $225k he was getting in the AHL.
