Yes the press release says he's "medically cleared to play".

Yes, Pribyl is cleared to play. Will be interesting to track how he does on the farm. Will probably take some time to get up to speed.

How long will it take before Smid is placed on the LTIR?

Based on the comments from Treliving on 960, doesn't sound like Kulak will be around for long.

I can imagine that after the Smid situation is taken care of Bollig will replace him.

Cap Space: $638,768 (Smid on regular IR to start)
Total Cap: $72,361,232
Active Roster: 13F/8D/2G
If you include the bonus overage that Cap Friendly believes they have carried over from last year, that knocks it down to $8,266. Which is pretty much as close as they could hope to get to the Cap to max out Smid's LTIR space, when they decide to start using it.

Can someone explain why there are only two goalies on the opening day roster?

Sounds more like Engelland or Wideman will be traded.

Treliving: "I expected better performances at training camp" but says Jankowski was a bright spot and will be up in the NHL at some point this season. Shinkaruk is close to making the NHL too.

Agreed, sounded to me like Kulak deserves a chance, like Grossman as the Vet 7th guy that can sit in the box, but would still like to tweak somethings.

Can someone (Sureloss?) give a high level overview of how the LTIR space works?

Versteeg gets #10. I thought that was Vey's number?
