Not even training camp, their season is already underway

Considering that Ottawa doesn't want him back, not sure they can or want to assign him back to major junior until his rights have been moved.
Sorry I have missed a lot this off season. How come they don't want him back??

^CHL teams have limited space for overage players and for import players. Falkovsky would take one of each slot, and teams typically don't keep "two-slot" players if it can be avoided.

They could trade him within the OHL, but most other teams have already filled their overager/import slots, so there wouldn't be much interest. As well, they could cut him, and then he could sign with any team either in the CHL or overseas or the USHL or whatever.

Ahh ok, I didn't even think about the import side of it. Makes sense, thank you!

In that case I'm happy E2 was sent to the WHL. Yes he played well enough to stick for a bit longer but he wasnt making the team and he needs to do well in his first season in north america so I'm happy hes been cut.

Pretty by the book cuts so far. You can basically cut a line on the cuts based on AHL experience and age.

The two exceptions to the rule are Tkachuk and Mangiapane. The former we all expected to get a look. Good on Mangiapane though for the extended look.

Glad Lomberg is still around. He's got a lot of jam.

I haven't heard a single peep re: Wotherspoon. Does anyone have any views of his performance thus far?

Wotherspoon has been playing with Hamilton. I'm not sure that pairing has looked very good though, but he's definitely getting an opportunity to showcase himself.

Update camp roster tracker. Fixed a few mistakes and now include waiver status as of the start of the season. * for waiver status indicates the player will require waivers if signed to a NHL deal but their current contract status does not require waivers.

Spoiler!

This chart is great. Thanks for doing that.

One thing to note, Rasmus Andersson's contract can also slide, even if he spends the season as a pro. So long as he doesn't play 10 NHL games this season, it would slide as was the case with Poirier in his first pro season.

Why are there still 49 players in camp?

I never understood this philosophy. Why wouldn't you cut down your roster to 30ish players and start to seriously get ready for the season to try and avoid a slow start?

Anyone know what it means that Mikkel Aagaard is assigned to Stockton even though he's on a PTO? Does it mean he's already got an AHL contract?

There are still 12 days, and 5 pre-season games, before the season starts.

There's a typo down near the bottom. Instead of "Unsigned" shouldn't it read "Holdout, bad teammate, eats puppies"?
