McLellan seems to be using this tourney to get McDavid going for the season, rather than doing what he should be doing and coaching NA to a win. McDavid is too busy doing his worst Hall impressions and isn't using any of his linemates and currently has no business being part of the top line.

I love it (if this is things to come with the Oilers this year)!

0 point -1 McDavid clearly deserves the ice time. We are told he is the next Crosby.

Well, in fairness, McLellan does have a rather shining resume of being gifted teams with incredible talent and managing to screw them up spectacularly.

This is pretty much just par for his course.

To be fair, the pretournament games are to get chemistry and shake off the rust not pad exhibition stats. That's what McLellan seems to be trying to do.

If this is a regular game...

Hard to get a -1 one there have been no even strength goals scored.

Paul sounds weird when he says Matthews. Sounds like Matt Hughes. Like it's two words.

I will be shocked if Auston Matthews does not win the Calder. He's better on puck battles than some 21-22 year old stars.

That is his stat line for all 3 games so far, the ones where NA beat Team Europe 4-0 and 7-4. Yes, he managed a -1 with 11 goals for over 2 games outscoring the opponent by 7 goals.

Depends on any eligible guys who are older and might be in a better spot. Matthews will certainly get playing time and media attention. Matt Murray will be an official rookie still. I think Drouin still qualifies? Strome does. Provorov could make a splash.
