my suggestion is read up on as much Scott Cullen fantasy material as you can, and then join my pool so that your entrance fee can do directly into my ribeye steak fund.

That was pretty surprising to me. He assumes there's basically no reason to assume guys like Drouin, Bennett, or Barkov will put up more points this year, despite each player making significant progress last season. That tells me he's just punching stuff into an algorithm and not thinking his way through each player. Obviously he's not going to if he's making a list of 300 players, but it would be nice if he put just a little effort into the actual thought process rather than the math.
I mean the Flames ones are pretty poor, but if you factor in the desire to play a more defensive game, it's possible that every player's numbers would go down a little. HOWEVER, I doubt he even thought about that factor when making this.
Just for another example, here are his Panthers projections compared to last year's numbers:
Player---15/16---16/17
Barkov---GP:66, P:59---GP:74, P:56 (ranked 54th)
Jagr---GP:79, P:66---GP:79, P:56
Huberdeau---GP:76, P:59---GP:76, P:53
Jokinen---GP:81, P:60---GP:81, P:53
Smith---GP:82, P:50---GP:82, P:49
Trocheck---GP:76, P:53---GP:75, P:48
Ekblad---GP: 78, P:36---GP:80, P:39
It looks like he cut and paste from last year's numbers and dropped everyone by a few points because??? Unsustainable? The only guy who might fall off is Jagr, and I still wouldn't bet on that. Ekblad is the only one who improves on last year and it's a measly 3 points. Barkov regressing already? Damn Scott, have some faith in these young guys.
I guarantee he didn't do any more than run this through a computer program.
