Keep in mind Temple of the Dog is touring in November. That puts Cameron, McCready, Ament and Gossard out of commission for that month and likely a few weeks before as they prepare. I assume Vedder may even join them for Hunger Strike portion of the set list.

I am guessing it may have something to do with the love they have for their fans and trying to minimize costs by playing to more fans at any one given time.

Well Vedder did kick a guy out at Wrigley that was getting aggressive with a woman in the crowd. So maybe some of it is for the love of their fans...

But of course it's about money. They can sell out a huge stadium and so they will play a huge stadium.
