I would only move him for a couple players in the league.
McDavid
Ekblad (and even then I would have to think about it)
end of list. I'm being deadly serious.
No amount of throw-ins or picks would suffice. Give me an equally great player at the same age and we'll talk, otherwise, nope nope nope.

I don't think the Hall trade is very relevant because it largely was based on the Oilers having a glaring need and therefore equal value wasn't going to be realized.
I think something like this from Philly would be the type of package:
- Provorov
- Schenn
- Pick/prospect

If:
FUN=STUPID
Then sure, this is soooo much fun....

He won't be moving absolutely zero chance. The only player in the league I trade him for is McDavid. I wouldn't take Matthews, Eichel, Barkov, etc for him.
I can't wait until he signs. He doesn't want out they are just wrestling over the term and $ value which I think is eventually won by the agent. Flames ownership must know this is their next Jarome type player that will be the face of the franchise for the next 8 years at least (hopefully longer). My biggest concern is the Flames will push to drive the cap hit down and only sign him to a 6 year deal

The Voracek contract is disgustingly ugly. I would prefer Simmonds or Schenn

Sometimes stupid is fun. Some of the most fun I've had is doing stupid stuff.
Why so serious?

I sure don't.
In the first place, there is not really a conceivable, realistic scenario in which Gaudreau is traded in the foreseeable future. In the second place, as a RFA with no arbitration rights and several years removed from unrestricted free agency the Flames would move him to the team with the most to offer in return, and that team would NOT be Philadelphia.

Ya, but the reason why this is stupid is firstly that's not Jonny and secondly, if he did, BT just says no. What's he going to do, sit out a year? Look at drouin.
It's a contract negotiation. Nothing more. Entertaining these thoughts will descend you into madness.

Just came in to the read the freakouts. It won't happen. He'll get signed, but if you want to play that game the Hall trade did lower the market value, which makes the likelihood of a trade even less.

Lets say Johnny is home sick and really doesnt like it here. Youre eught, he cant do anything and I dint think he would sit out. But if his heart isnt in the game and he is unhappy, he may not be playing up to his potential. Im not saying this is the case or will happen, but to say that its not possible is being in denial.

Why is it stupid for someone to suggest he might want to go home? Just cause it doesn't fit into some of your fanboy rhetoric does not mean you have to #### all over the OP and his suggestion. Johnny wanting to go home is very plausible. I would not be surprised to see him traded at some point in his career. Maintaining Monahan,Bennett And Gaudreau along with our latest potential star draft pick is not really feasible if all pan out the way some see on here. The topic is a fair one to discuss just as much as any other. Some people would rather a thread of "which colour of skittles is Johnnys favourite?" It seems.
Edit- and no where in his post did he mention a timeline. It's simply a what if at anytime. People reading it as if it's a hold out hypothetical that Johnny won't sign unless he's traded are the ones creating that storyline not the OP.

It would be the day I stopped being a Flames fan. If they can't sign the most talented player the team has ever had there's no point watching.

I think you're confusing this with Eiffel Towering a rando on New Year's Eve.

I don't know what that is and probably shouldn't look it up at work.

I'll play, but it's tough. I would want a lot and not sure how you could get a fair deal back for him let alone a homerun win.
Johnny and Backlund to Buffalo for Eichel and Justin Bailey.

And the fact that Johnny is better at Ice Hockey than Taylor Hall is.
