Not a fan of Francis over Hextall. Other than that we have the best PBP crew in the biz calling Flames games. For that I am forever grateful.

It's not really Francis over Hextall. Francis will be doing the same bits he did last year, and someone else will be hosting the studio segments.

There only 8 games on SN360, just 2 more than last year. The Nov. 16 and Feb. 1 games will also be on SN West anyways.

It amazes me sometimes how Rogers loves to do the exact opposite of what fans want.
Everyone (mostly) raves about Hextall, so they cut her. Everyone (mostly) bitches about Francis; he gets an expanded role.
Maybe we should pretend to hate Ball/Hrudey before they try something else stupid?

Yep, there's a pattern, but, Rogers did listen to the many fans who hated Cox and Healy.

I'm curious (morbidly so?) to see how Sportsnet handles intermissions next season. Pre taped stuff with MacLean, Millard & Kypreos for every game? Are they going to the one crew in studio for every game they broadcast or two? Francis' role won't likely be any more than it has been in other seasons. A few comments prior to the start of the 2nd & 3rd during home games.

37 national games and 45 regional games
This is an increase of one national game from last season and has been rising every season since Rogers took over!
Just as the press release says all 13 Saturdays are national games (most of them to be on the CBC).
There are a dozen Wednesdays with 11 games nationally on Sportsnet, Sportsnet One, and SN360. The one regional game, Avs at Flames, will be on Sportsnet West.
There are also ten Sundays with 6 of them nationally on Sportsnet, SN1, and SN360. The four regional games have one game on SN Flames and the other 3 games on SN West.
The other 7 national games:
one Monday game on Sportsnet
two Tuesday game on SN1
three Thursday games, both on SN360
one Friday game on SN1

I love that every Flames game gets broadcast now, but man does Rogers do a terrible job with airing the games. There is just something I don't like about their presentation, I don't know how to explain it, but everything looks so low budget.
Ball and Hrudey do a good job calling the games, but all the other commentators are just terrible.
I didn't care much for Hextall, I found her voice to be annoying. Francis is the worst. Give that job to one of the beat reporters, like Darren Haynes.
