Saw a Belgium motorhome plate, Austrian car and a cool motorcycle sidecar with Great Britain plates this summer.
We always play the "spot all the US states" game when we head south, I'm always floored that Hawaii isn't the toughest one to find. It's almost always West Virginia or Mississippi that are more difficult to spot.

On that note I have seen way more Utah plates around here this summer than probably any other one. Not sure why.

I must live a couple doors down from him! Have seen that plate parked on a driveway on my street. I should keep that in mind if I buy tickets from him this year
I was at Chinatown on the weekend for lunch, saw a BMW with a license plate that ends with 888, and then I saw a Mercedes with an 888 plate as well. After lunch I saw another BMW with an 888 plate followed by a Lexus SUV with yet another 888 plate....

Luck superstition probably. I had a realtor tell me that many Chinese won't by a house if the number is unlucky, I think it was 4's that are bad or something.

New building in Chinatown in Vancouver has a small sign above the hose hook-up, I assume for firefighters:
When WestJet first started up they managed to reserve all the YYC xxx plates for their employees and I believe the number corresponds to the employee number. So when you see a YYC xxx plate chances are that person either did or still does work for Westjet.
This finally explains why I've seen a large proportion of BMW's with plates that start with BMW....
