Also I went to the next game of Anaheim vs Calgary after the brawl, the rematch if you will.

Boring

lol totally forgot about Lowry throwing the puck over the boards so Berube could come back on the ice. Great way to respond to that dirty hit on Vernon, remember that game fondly.

I was actually at four of those events...

Harvey's tongue was funny - and while it sparked an Oilers attempted comeback, they just weren't good enough in the end. Story of their lives.

The brawl game - I have always hated Bryan Murray since this game. Berube was an idiot to run Giguere, but that was emotional stupidity. Murray sent Lambert and Sawyer out - without elbow pads - to deliberately try to injure Iginla and Vernon in retaliation. Then he used his connections with the league to get himself out of trouble. Always considered the guy a grade A piece of #### after that.

It really was in.

And not the famous streaker, but the one from 2013. He was actually a British tourist, who got fined like $150 and banned from the Dome for a year. But since he was returning home literally the next day, said it was entirely worth it.

If you're thinking of the British streaker, I think that was at a game against Florida in the late 90s.

I was at all of those games except the Bennett one. From my vantage point at the Dome:

-When the streaker fell over the glass, it was so awkward and non-athletic that it looked like someone had thrown a mannequin out there. He hit the ice so hard he was motionless for quite some time-scary. Highlight was the guy throwing the "Rock on" fingers to the crowd as they wheeled him off the ice, then putting his index finger to his lips when he crowd cheered because, y'know, it was too loud, and his head hurt.

-Dave Lowry flipping the puck over the glass to let a rabid Berube outta the box remains one of my favourite memories of watching a game live. I think only Saprykin and Kay Whitmore! were left on the Flames bench by the end.

-Harvey's taunting of MacT...just remember thinking that it could come back to haunt us, and it almost did (EDM nearly tied the game up late-I think it was Iggy making a game saving back check...) Still, the extra long scarf-tongue was pretty hilarious.

-Gelinas' goal-in-question appeared to us live in our seats as an amazing save by The Bhulin Wall. Because no review came (nor questioning from the Flames' bench), we figured the Flames had already looked at it and were satisfied with the on-ice call. It wasn't until I saw the highlights that I was upset there was no review. I remember being far more upset with the non-call on St. Louis in double OT when his trip forced the turnover in the Flames end that led to his goal.

I took our mutual acquaintance (S. Lee) to the follow-up CGY/ANA game, expecting fireworks. It was so boring he fell asleep...(something I still bug him about to this day!)

My favorite anecdote, that it took 20 minutes to play the final 1:25 of a game vs. Anaheim.
There is something about this guy's writing style that I just absolutely love. I think its the unashamed sarcasm.

Quote:
Berube doesn’t even give hockey a chance at getting back underway before assaulting Jeff Friesen, who wants nothing to do with him. Craig Conroy and Sergei Krivokrasov rush after them, hugging each other, but pretty much just for show as officials fight to separate Berube.
Also, assaulting Jeff Friesen should merit some sort of award.

That list misses when we traded Jokinon and priest for Kotilik, canceled the trade, got blown out, then finished the trade

Agreed. Even with a review like today the goal would have been ruled inconclusive and call on the ice would have stood. St. Louis' clear trip was the real travesty. I would love for the refs in that game to come clean and say "it was the start of the period, we weren't really prepared yet, and we messed up." Tampa still may have won but that play leave a sour taste.

Nope. It was the 2013 game. Or, at least the one the PD article references was: http://www.metronews.ca/news/calgary...-training.html

Also, rather disappointed Ari missed Doug Risebrough in the penalty box shredding Marty McSorley's sweater with his skates, and Glen Sather melting down about it to the press.

Kids these days. No sense of history!

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ An overseas visitor to Calgary has been charged with causing a disturbance after a nude male streaked the Canadian Airlines Saddledome on Friday night.
Julian Vaudrey, 21, is officially listed as having no fixed address in police records because he is from England, according to city police Sgt. John Szczupack.

Some others not on the list and not mentioned as not available on youtube:

-Flames playing in front of a few hundred in New Jersey because of an ice storm in the early 90's.
-Any 80's brawls game vs Oilers or Canucks or Jets, and many of those had players crossing tunnels after fight, but no cameras of course
-Semenko kneeing Wilson. Swede Knox throwing down Dave Hunter. Aforementioned jersey shred by Risebrough.

-Flames vs. Nashville sequence in 2003 and 2004; Vokun front and centre
1)Jan 2003 - Iginla runs over Vokun, McLennan screaming down

2)November 2003 - Vokun goes and hits Iginla in the corner

3)March 2004 - Hot dog empty netter from Nashville, Sutter throws out Commodore, Oliwa, Warrener, Regher with 3 seconds to play. Vokun fights Kipper, Trotz accused Sutter of setting back game 30 years

The irony of Trotz saying Sutter set the game back 30 years was the fact that the entire thing only happened because he sent his heavies out, along with Jordin Tootoo to run his mouth. Tootoo, of course, hightailed it off the ice on an illegal change before the faceoff after Sutter counted with our heavies. The officials allowed it because, well Tootoo would have died otherwise. He continued to mouth off from the safety of his bench, and while hiding behind the linesman.

That entire brawl happened because of Trotz, not Sutter.

Figures - I was only there for the 2002 streaker (also figures - I was there for the 98 one as well). The 98 one did a couple laps and then just stood at centre ice because no one wanted to come and get him.

Yeah the ref skated up to him with his head averted and passed him a towel. The ladies seemed to enjoy it anyways while the old farts were outraged.

I was at the game about 20 feet from the net. Khabibulin's pad was behind the line so there is no way it would not be in. My niece and her husband were at home watching the game on the US feed. They phoned to tell me the puck was in and the announcers on the US feed were sure of it. The fact there was no review and then the non interference call when St. Louis scored is what made me angry.

Ha, I was at that game with my then brother in law. We also thought it was a mannequin and had a discussion about how the hell you would sneak it in.

Finally the guy in front turned around and set u straight.

Red Socks were a nice touch.
