Frolik seems like a better choice on the top line than Brouwer imo

Boom: Tyler Wotherspoon. Comes to camp on a mission and takes a spot.

Bust: Bennett. Has a few spurts during the year but disappoints overall.

I'll definitely take 40-60-100 from Gaudreau. If that's your bust we're winning the Cup!

This is really tough

Boom:
Hamilton. Consistent year should see him improve after a weak start last year
Wideman. Playing to redeem himself
Elliott: Only a boom based on last year's D and goalies, not based on his previous numbers.
Bust:
Tough call after a team wide bust last year.
Ferly is a guy who I think busted hard last year, and can't be much worse. To get back to expectations is hardly a boom.
Maybe Pribyl, depending on people's expectations, but mine are not so lofty

I have high hopes for the team with the new coach and goaltending. Especially compared to last year, which was disastrous

Brouwer is more physical and can also pot some goals. The top line is missing a guy who can grind it out in the corners and Brouwer would fill that void nicely.

Boom - Ferland, Jankowski and Elliot (just because we deserve decent G this year)

Busts - Monahan (the new contract is going to set expectations even higher)

Boom: Bennett.

Solid season: Hamilton. Doesn't necessarily have a booming season, but plays a full solid year and looks a lot more comfortable with the Western style.

Bust: Gulutzan. Flames fans everywhere call for Hartley to return.

Boom: Jyrki "Kevin" Jokipakka. Has a career year playing alongside Hamilton and cements his status as a legitimate top 4 defenseman.

Bust: Lance "the human sacrifice" Bouma. Another injury riddled campaign for Bouma. The sum total of his injuries starts to take a toll on his game and he begins to decline.

Surprised quite a few people are putting Monahan down as bust.

He's been as consistent as a young centre can be in the league so far.

Its interesting to me to see people have Bennett under both boom and bust. Curious as what your expectations are for Bennett. I honestly don't know what to expect from him.

Boom:
Bennett
Hamilton - Ready to get 20 goals
Ferland - It will start to click for him.

Bust:
Gaudreau, Monahan - After getting big contracts probably see a bit of a step back
Wideman - He will be even worse than you would have thought. Last season in the NHL for him.

I'm hoping this is the year that Sam Bennett and Douggie Hamilton really hit their stride.

On the other side of the equation, I think there's quite a bit of pressure on Gulutzan to take this team to the next level, so i could see him be considered a bust by many at the end of the season if things don't go well.

I also think this is Ferlands last real shot with the Flames. This is a guy who has 6 goals in almost a 100 games, and is 24 years old. I'm just not sure he will ever have the hands to finish, and his drive is wildly inconsistent.

Boom: Monahan. Continues to exceed expectations, and steps up his game after signing the big contract. Thrives under the pressure of the big contract. PPG player with 40 goals, All star, and consensus best player on the team.

Bust: Stajan.
