Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! Really appreciate all the help! The Giants game is a day game against the Pirates but will still bring a hoodie!

I like Fisherman's wharf for a day. Go see the sea lions. If you've got the City Pass (which I recommend if only for the transit and Alcatraz) then you get free admission to the aquarium, which I liked. I also enjoyed the Boudin bakery tour (again included in Citypass) I think it came with free clam chowder in a bread bowl. Touristy, but fun.

Chinatown is fun to walk around and look in the shops.

I disagree with renting a car, except maybe for a single day if you need one for a day trip. Maybe get it on your last day in SF and then drive to Napa.

Muir woods is great. Can drive, or take the 66 bus from the Saulsalito ferry.

I went to SFC back in 2008. The city still had a pretty vibrant inner city vibe. I've heard that it has almost been wiped out by gentrification. Mission probably has some great burritos still.

To true. The locals call it "Crisco" as a bit of a play on the name. Use that and you will fit right in.

Day game will probably be alright then, but always pays to be prepared.

For anyone else - if you ever went to a Cannons or Vipers game at Foothills, weather at a Giants game is basically that.

On a related note, my dad was at the Giants game at Candlestick Park when Roseanne butchered the American national anthem. I told him it's a famous event in sporting history. He said it was hella awkward. Ever since then it's the first thing I think of when I think of San Francisco.
