Bishop only has one year left. I'm good without reading Elliott

I don't expect Killorn to play out this whole contract in Tampa but it seems pretty tradeable because he's a good player.

I like Killorn, but he's a 40 point guy who has never hit 20 goals, so this seems a bit much. The Andrew Shaw contract was widely mocked, but both guys are middle-six forwards with similar point totals, and yet Tampa isn't being ridiculed for giving Killorn more term/aav.

The thing with Killorn is he's been effective with both Stamkos and Johnson, so he's pretty solidly a top 6 winger. The point totals should give you pause on the length of the deal though, I won't argue.

For all the good things Yzerman has done, this is a pretty poor move despite Killorn being a decent player because of the term and Tampa's cap situation.

Yzerman has proven himself to be pretty shrewd as a GM, so this contract seems a little weird to me.

I wonder if this is the kind of contract that is meant to look attractive to Vegas in a year? Slightly overpaid vet, but locked in long term at a mostly manageable price? I predict Killorn is playing in Vegas for 2017/2018.

You don't seem to understand the difference between RFA and UFA. Also, seven frickin years, that really makes it worse.

Killorn seems to be underrated on here. One of the only Lightning top 6 players who plays with strength and power. He's a good compliment to their smaller and weaker forwards. Point totals aren't everything, Killorn is one of those key complimentary guys.

I just don't think you can commit this type of term to a complementary player with the salary cap tapering off like it is.
