Welcome to hockey discussion in July. Is this your first time? It must be.
Dont worry, after you lose the pretension of thinking you're better than everyone else you'll figure it out.

That'd be a pretty crazy story in he scientific community .. Acceleration due to gravity / heat from entering the atmosphere both either ramping down or being negated somehow might even impress the nerd in me (and that nagging "are we alone?" question) more than* a 100 point Tkachuk rookie campaign.
* does not make me a closet fan of a rival team /green text

I see being a favorite in the first round, and conference finals if Tkachuk steps in and dominates. I don't see him playing this year in the NHL though.

7 top 6 forwards? Who? That sounds insanely optimistic to me. The only guys we have that are without question top 6 forwards are Monahan and Gaudreau. Brouwer, Frolik, Backlund, and Bennett would be better described as middle 6 forwards, they're all on the cusp of 2/3 in terms of their production, but I would call 45 points the low end of what should be a second line guy. Brouwer and Frolik both are below that mark for 3 years running, Backlund's only passed it for the first time this year, and Bennett's never hit that (although I expect him to this year). Basically, you're calling for all of those guys to have career years, and that seems pretty unlikely to happen.

I'll never understand why people have an aversion to threads like these in the doldrums of Summer. There's absolutely zero hockey news to discuss, so CP can either be dead for two months of the year or we can discuss all sorts of whacky stuff to help pass the time.
So, that said... if Tkachuk wins the Calder, I'd have to imagine he scores somewhere around 60 points. He's likely playing in a top six position in that case, so the team has found their much-needed scoring winger.
This solidifies the top 6 and pushes players down into a more natural position where they aren't being asked too much of. Frees up guys to have a stronger year as a whole and its reflected in the team's on-ice performance. They finish with 103 points, similar to division-clinching 47-26-9 season Florida had in 2015-2016.
Sure, why the heck not.
