It'll be closer than previous years #1's I think. If Gillies didn't lose most of this year to injury I think more would vote for him. Tkachuk takes it imo.

Since they didn't qualify a bunch of pending RFAs, it's easier to decide who to include than it has been in the past where there were players whose rights were still controlled even though the players had already signed in Europe or somewhere.
Hamilton and Wotherspoon are the only ones on the cusp, but neither has pushed himself out of the "prospect" conversation just yet. Neither of them has fallen to the point where you can say "he'll never make it", nor have they reached "he's already made it" territory.

Hathaway in the same boat as Wotherpsoon and Hamilton IMO. On the cusp, like you say.

Looks good, my favourite thread of the year.
I suppose we could still sign some UFAs to fill out Stockton, but they aren't going to be guys that would end up too high on the list anyway.

So two trains of though ... kick this off for Stampede in about 6 days when the prospect camp is over, or start it as soon as tomorrow
I'm leaning to after prospect camp as I think a fresher look will make the list better in the end.

I suggest waiting until after prospect camp....give us a chance to actually see and hear more about all the new guys.

On one hand, I'd like to start now. On the other, it's probably better to wait until after the camp.
I say start it next Friday since the prospects scrimmage in on Thursday.

Yeah let's do it after camp so we can make a little more of an informed decision.

After camp makes the most sense. Still tons of time to get it done and it will give a chance for more informed opinions.

A goalie who just missed an entire year of development won't challenge anyone for 1st...
Tkachuk will win the vote at around 95%.

I wouldn't include Hamilton. He's a farm hand. A good farm hand, but a farm hand nonetheless.

I think Kylington could be top 5 as well.

I personally rank prospects according to potential. If I was basing it off who is close to NHL ready I'd have a completely different list. I personally see Fox as a very high skill dman. If he develops as is hope he could be a very good PP specialist in your top 4.
