I propose "18 YR OLD BENNETT" just to anger Canucks fans

None of the guys in that article are any better than Chiasson. And let's see what we have in Pribyl. Also, it's time for Poirier to take a step forward.

Finally, Tkachuk could surprise.

I don't see that article offering any improvements on the hopefuls that we've already got.
Let's say Chiasson only manages 4th line duty, Pribyl needs significant time in the AHL, Tkachuk and Poirier (still) aren't ready. Now you're left with all the holes on the wings with no other realistic solution.
That's not to say of course, that signing 2 of the mentioned guys would be the ticket to improving the team as a whole or that you're guaranteed to have them as part of a solution. It's not a bad idea to add one of these small gambles where the risk is neglible given the cost, builds better competition than just Brandon Bolig and Jooris. The whole spirit behind that bargain bin is hoping you find a good deal as opposed to dropping your blank cheque on a Lucic/Backes/Okposo

None of them. Might as well see what some youngsters from our own farm can do. Also they all seem like bottom 6 players and we have to many as is. There is no chance Stajan, Bollig, Raymond can be traded and they can't all be sent to the minors. We already added a bottom 6 player yesterday. If we are adding it's got to be at the very least a 2b rw.

Sure, except for the fact that there is a roster limit.

Acquiring any of those guys means the guys I listed don't get that chance.

At some point, more quantity isn't better

Not quite as bad as the stuttery "B. Bennett"

I, too, would take Connelly but on a 1-year show-me contract (say 1.25 max) only

Yeah if the flames are just looking for a shooter to play top line with jg and sean they can do a lot worse than Pirri. He's going to be expensive though, otherwise Anaheim would have just qualified him.

I don't know. I think Pirri is a guy that has some pretty clear warts and may have a hard time finding a job. He probably has high expectations, that are going to be reset after July 1.

Not at all opposed to bringing Stempniak back for one year

Chris Stewart is one I've been mulling over. Doubt he's going to get many offers, so should come cheap. I think there's still some skill there, but would be more optimistic of a turnaround if his skating was better

The Flames could use 2 RW but there are a lot of forwards on the team

Gaudreau-Monahan-?
Rookie-Bennett-?
Bouma-Backlund-Frolik
Ferland-Stajan-Chaisson
Bollig, Raymond

The rookie spot can be filled by Tkachuk, Shinkaruk, or Poirier. Colborne may fill one of those question marks. Raymond maybe is bought out or demoted again? Bollig likely is the 13th forward. There is room for a couple of wingers but I really hope the flames can find those players via trade. Bargain bin shopping on one of those guys is not bad but at the same time I am okay if they open 2 spots for younger guys. Connelly or DSP if we do go UFA route.

Since DSP has been brought up many times, I feel I need to once again address (and expand on) his no-goodness.

He's physical and has okay speed, but doesn't seem to forecheck with any purpose.

Doesn't see his teammates well at all, can't carry the puck with any consistency.

Anything good he does seems to be an accident.

I believe he would quickly become a CP whipping boy.

Just say no.

Lee Stempniak should have never been traded in the first place.

What about Boedker? He could be a pretty good acquisition at $4million (I'm not sure what his actual asking price is.) Dale Weise is another guy that I would consider. I like that guy and I think he could be a goal scorer when paired with the right guys. Weise should be a sub $2 million guy.

Instead of spending 9m on a Okposo and a Connolly, I'd rather we get two of Boedker/Perron/Versteeg. Bring back Colborne, ship out Bouma and Stajan

Gaudreau - Monahan - Frolik
Perron - Backlund - Versteeg
Tkachuk- Bennett - Colborne
Ferland - Hathaway - Chiasson

Edit: Had Johnny and Monahan in the wrong order

Sceviour would seemingly light up the Heat/Baby Flames every time he faced them
