Unlikely but I hope abramov (spelling) drops after Tkachuk fell to us so Keller wasn't viable. Like those skill guys over the Hunter Smith types all day. Unless there's another mangiapane in the 6th again.

I think they will pick another goalie with one of the two.

It is a poor draft for goaltenders. I can't remember which source said it, but they suggested a goaltender shouldn't go until the third or fourth round based on the talent available. That's how bad the goaltenders are this year.

I actually don't believe they will. They have Gillies and MacDonald, but they also signed Schneider last off-season. The 'rule of thumb' is to take one goalie every 2nd draft, and if you count Schneider, then it would be 3 straight years of goalies if they take one this year.
However, maybe they really are high on a goalie that is still available.

I think our scouts picked 3 gems last year at 53, 60 and 166 - you let them make those picks at 54 and 56.

Everything I've read has said this isn't a very deep draft, so I'm not expecting much by the time the Flames pick. Of course, I don't have the time or energy to read up on players likely to be picked in the 2nd round, so could someone in the know post some info on the BPAs? I might not be the only one that needs it.

The experts say it's good until 50 but all lists are different so there should ge some decent players by the time it's our turn to pick.
Another thing to watch for is if anything comes of Treliving's conversation with Shero. Picks or players involved?

best forwards left are probably Pascal Laberge, Alex DeBrincat and Rasmus Asplund ... Laberge is a dynamic forward which most fans on here wanted in case we get the 1st from Dallas, while DeBrincat is a 5'7 goalscorer and Asplund is a smart 2-way center. Then you have guys like Boris Katchouk, Tyler Benson and Will Bitten who could be top 40 picks ... plus the small Russian kid, Vitali Abramov - who knows when he goes, could be anywhere in the 2nd round. As for defensemen, Kale Clague is probably the BPA left. Markus Niemeläinen could go early too, very big and mobile defenseman from Finland
looking at the list of who's still available, I'm sure the Flames will get three decent players at 54, 56 and 65. Hope they keep all of those picks.

My targets: Alex DeBrincat, Nathan Bastian, Mitch Mattson, Taylor Raddysh, Cameron Morrison, Joey Anderson, Wade Allison, and Brett Murray. I hope we get a highly skilled guy and a couple big bruisers that know how to play with those skilled guys.

I bet Treliving does ask about Hayes at some point today. This is probably part of one of his processes.

Why would they do that if there's a drop off in talent?
