Unless I am mistaken, Ortio signed a 2 year deal - first year 2 way, second year 1 way. Therefore last year was subjected to waivers, and more of a victim of the 3 goalie situation.
If anything, Ortio could be sour on the Flames for settling the expectation on career path and screwing up by signing both Ramo and Hiller when he was sitting with a 1 way.
On the other hand, he can't have too much attitude because the 3 headed monster situation did not give him the opportunity to demonstrate his ability to succeed in the 1 way year.
Odd situation. Personally, if I was Ortio, I would probably be looking hard at somewhere else as he may perceive that the Flames reneged on an understanding and this situation threw his career in to limbo. But the tough part is finding another team that wants to take him on. This is part of the job of the agent. Out of respect for Ortio, I hope his agent works as hard as Tre.
