Or maybe, Lucic is keen on signing a modest, 1yr deal because he wants no part of Vancouver, and he already knows what kind of tire fire is in Edmonton.
Its a good opportunity to play close to home and max out on some points and try again next year for the big deal.

Hopefully signing Lucic here. The guy is just what Johnny and Monahan need. Nobody would take runs at #13. Lucic is a player where stats do not reflect the whole story.

I think Hartnell can do the same at a much lower cost...at least salary wise.

Not interested in the player at the contract he's going to ask for but good to see the Flames leaving no stones unturned and bolstering the market for a player that will likely sign with a rival team.

Why does everyone seem to think Lucic would be a contract the Flames would regret in 2-3 years? I don't necessarily think that's true. I'd love Lucic on this team.
