The trade we made to get rid of Berra has to go down as one of the best trades of all time for this franchise.

The sad thing is Berra has the 10th best SV% in the league last year at .922, tying him with Vezina winner Holtby.

Come on, man. He went for a pick that was higher than what most of us expected but that pick turned into Hunter Smith. Your franchise is in trouble if a trade like that even makes the list.

The trade itself was great. What we did with the asset, not so much.

Maybe they think Grimaldi is going to be a superstar and Berra was just they price they had to pay to get him?

If only we had drafted the guy taken 4 picks later...

Grimaldi never impressed me much, but he does have some good qualities that could transfer to the NHL. Just hasn't happened yet.

Berra seemed to regain his game a little, but doesn't exactly inspire me with confidence yet. However, it sounds like Montoya is as good as gone since he had a really good year as a backup, and is probably looking for a situation to be a 1B goalie, so they needed to have a halfway-capable backup to Luongo this year.

Not a terrible trade, there just wasn't room for Grimaldi in the Panthers lineup, and he doesn't really fit the style of game they are developing, so getting something in return for the asset is a good move.

Sort of offsets the awful signing earlier today, but not by a lot.
