Absolutely ridiculous deal for Yandle, who's already 30. 7 years? 45 million? Ouch. What a horrible contract.

That Brodie re-signing looks better every day.

I like Yandle and figured he'd get that price but wow, 7 years? His agent deserves a raise.

Awful. The Panthers do this, but couldn't figure out how to sign Gudbranson? Different players sure, but I know where I would put my money.

Good lord, that contract is going to look truly awful very quickly. Doesn't really look great now. Not a great start for this new Panther regime.

Terrible deal
Imagine if we end up paying Monahan less than Florida will be paying Keith Yandle.

This is a Sutter-esque deal.

The term is maybe a year too long. But he is one of the top 3 offensive defenseman in the league from the past three years, the cap hit seems fine.

in what league?

Yandle is as one-dimensional as they come. There is a reason the Rangers let him walk after paying dearly to get him 2 years ago.

This contract is horrifically bad.

He's not even the top offensive defenseman on the teams he's played on.

Maybe it was top 5 in the last five years, can't remember for sure right now. Remember reading something like that.

Anyway the point is he is one of the elite point producing defenseman in the league. Defensively has some warts though.

He's the top offensive D on the Rangers or the Panthers. He was 15th in NHL defensive scoring.

Holy crap is that a terrible deal. Yandle is completely one-dimensional, absolutely awful in his own zone. He is a #4 defenseman, powerplay specialist at best, and they are paying him like a top pairing stud.

Yeah, in the way that Dennis Wideman is: moderately offensive, with slow skating, poor defensive play, and (now) an albatross contract.

My goodness. What have you done for me lately?
One year ago Wideman was 4th in defensive scoring. Yandle has been consistently around 50 points for years.

You can argue about his defense but he is elite offensively. Also an elite skater.
