No. I tend to think most of what we hear Treliving say in public is media-speak intended to placate and misdirect the masses. Even if I did think he tends to be excessively analytical this would be much preferable to the alternative: that he under-thought and under-analysed his decisions.

Signing Mason Raymond could be construed as under thinking for sure.

Sure, when you look at it with the benefit of hindsight and don't bother to take into account where Raymond, and the team, were at on July 1st, 2014.

Or maybe it was:
"Leafs player with 30+ goals"
"Hometown kid"
"Back up the brinks truck, he's worth 3 million after suffering a broken back in the cup finals"
We don't really know right?

Wow. Long day for Burkie. I saw he was at Gordie Howe's funeral today in Detroit.

$3m is 3rd liner money in UFA. At the time the team was flirting with the possibility of not being at the cap floor and BT had no idea how good Gaudreau and Monahan would become. Raymond was also coming off a decent year as far as a 3rd/2nd liner goes. It was unfortunate that his game deteriorated to the point where he is not an NHL player but I don't recall anyone here predicting that would happen at the time either. If Raymond had put up 35 goals and 70 points over the last two years combined, no one would care, especially if Gaudreau was a 50 point player and the team finished bottom 5 in 2015.

Ask him how he feels about processed cheese. Its been through the process and is, apparently, the desired final result.

Will see if we can pin down BT on who he likes beyond Tkachuk and Dubois for our 6th pick. Dont want him to give away too much since he may be wheeling and dealing at draft.
Any burning questions we should ask?

It's awesome that you're going, and hopefully you can relay some juicy tidbits, but I believe you may have committed a jersey foul.

One of these things happened, one of them didn't. Flames get Leafs player and he ends up sucking. Gee, I've never in my life ever heard that before as a Flames fan. Ever.
He's the Ales Kotalik of this Flames iteration. Junk. People blame Feaster for saddling the Flames with Wideman, and this signing is fair game also imo.
The Leafs took this player on a try out contract man, he was already all but done. Some caution would have been appreciated I guess.

Coaching news:
Not announcing new coach tonight
Spent a long time building a profile of the kind of coach they wanted.
Treliving said he found out this was a really sought after job.

Its not a count, its a drinking game. Brad will understand. Darryl knew the score.
