Not ridiculous at all, at the right price. He's not a perfect solution but there's still a massive hole
to fill on the right side. If it's one of those situations where he hasn't been picked up by August and is willing to take a one year deal at low dollars, somewhere around 2 million, hard to find a fault there.

Cowen on waivers for buyout purposes.

No surprise but there's Cowan. Will be interesting to see if a team will make a reclamaition project out of him.
The Buyout period (window) started today. There will be a lot more being publicized shortly.

I feel the Flames D corps is set and need to eject two players from the system. I.E Wideman and a couple others where they see fit. I really like Jokipakka and Nakladal as the bottom paring. No need to spend more money on D.
Completely agree. Would be great if they could eject a couple of overpriced forwards at the same time but that is easier said than done. I'm curious as to whether they will buy anyone out.

You can cross Niklas Backstrom off the list he's going to Finland.

Wouldn't mind Perron as a winger on Bennett's line but no more than 3 years. McGinn is another interesting option

Agree. Jokipakka and Nakladal were great additions. Both fantastic puck movement, smart positioning, quick decision makers. Both played physical as well.
I hope Wideman gets moved for picks or a top 6 RW but that could be a stretch. What Treliving did to get Hamilton was a bit of magic. Has a keen ability to draw just a little bit more out a trade so with Wideman I think he will be feverishly working the phones. Knowing that there is plenty of time between the draft and trade deadline to formulate a Wideman deal. If Wideman could get back to putting pucks through traffic like he did 2 years ago that would certainly help Treliving moving him.

Only issue with Wideman I think is how long the who NHL suing the PA to reinstate the rest of the 20 game suspension is going to last. If he has to sit out the first ten games of the season, teams are going to be less willing to pull the trigger on acquiring him.

Why would he have to sit out 10 more games? He already served 19.

Sorry, thought the suspension was reduced to 10. Must have been for the paycheck only. My bad.
