Exactly. One should not ask for an opinion if one is not prepared to receive an opinion they won't like.

Silly poll. I couldn't see the Oilers making this trade as it has a lot more potential to blow up in their face than it would here.

I have been saying this trade for a while. Yakupov needs to get out of deadmonton to get he's career back on track but I think it wouldn't happen here we are to close. But I say we then flip him to another team where yak could just play hockey and not get hounded by the media ever day.it's a win win for us .

Didn't vote.
There needs to be a 'Would never happen' option.

Edmonton would never risk sending their 1st overall, 22 year old bust, to their biggest rival.

Oilers wouldn't trade Yak for Wideman, just as they wouldn't trade Eberle for 6th OA.

It's more effective when you're not so obvious.

Better question is...

Could Wideman for Hall happen?

Would do that in a heart beat. Generational player, properly the best after the Great One (McDavid).

I actually like this poll. I would do it straight up, 1 for 1. But the Oilers wouldn't. I think Yak can be salvaged if he's in the RIGHT situation. How many ex-Oilers go on to other teams and have more success? He's still young and his cap hit is way less then Wideman. He's also a RW and might look good on the PP with Gaudreau dishing him the puck.

I wouldn't be opposed to it happening. And this coming from someone who has been a fan of Wideman since the day he signed, minus last season.

The Oilers would trade Eberle for 6OA and not even think twice about it.

The Flames would simply hang up the phone and block Chiarelli's number if he tried to propose it.

This forum could use a "dumb trade ideas" sub forum.

No they would not.

They would trade him for a D man of sorts. Maybe another forward that is a 2 way and puts up goals/points in some sort of larger deal. But why would they trade a 25+ goal scorer for a pick at this point? How does that help the team next year?

I personally don't think Eberle will be traded even though I hope that he would.

There's your answer right there - anyone that you 'hope' would be traded (and has a salary that he doesn't live up to) is NEVER getting you a 6OA pick in return.

I think your point was that Chia wouldn't trade Eberle for a pick, he would try to get a Dman for him. And I would agree with that.

But the point being made to you is that, if he were traded for a pick, there is no way in hell it would be for a 6OA.
