I actually took a look into K. Miller's fancy stats and they actually seem to be pretty good. Not very sheltered, but keeps his head way above water in terms of HSCA and SCA, not super great at suppressing shots against, but good at limiting high-danger chances. He'd be the #4D on the Flames for the foreseeable future imo.

However, 4 years is definitely too long of a deal for a guy who ideally slots in as your #5 on a contending team.

First of all, not really... he's a bottom pairing guy. Of the top 10 Bruins who share the ice with him in terms of minutes played together, 7 have better results when he's on the bench. This just screams "replaceable":



Second, the stats aren't what cause B's fans to pull their hair out over this signing. It's an eye test thing. He seems to disproportionately be the source of yakety sax on that team, or was last season. Look at some of the examples in here:
