First of all, not really... he's a bottom pairing guy. Of the top 10 Bruins who share the ice with him in terms of minutes played together, 7 have better results when he's on the bench. This just screams "replaceable":
Second, the stats aren't what cause B's fans to pull their hair out over this signing. It's an eye test thing. He seems to disproportionately be the source of yakety sax on that team, or was last season. Look at some of the examples in here:
