Sharks in 7.

Thornton and Marleau finally get a cup.

If the Blues win the cup it makes the leafs' cup drought all the more exclusive, as St Louis is the only expansion 6 team left without a cup and Toronto's last was the season prior to expansion.

If you consider the Sharks to be a continuation of the Golden Seals then this is a match-up of the only original 12 teams to not win a cup.

St Louis fans deserve this after losing the Rams. Sharks fans deserve this after, well, being Sharks fans during past postseasons. Sharks in 7 with a 7-6 score to make up for the combined game 7 snoozers in round 2

I wouldn't mind seeing Thornton win the cup eventually. He has taken so much criticism over the years despite having been a great player throughout his career. He's one of those deserving elder players who just needs a cup to cement his legacy.

I have a feeling that it's the Blues year this year. I'll give it to them.

It's no coincidence that the 4 highest scoring teams in the playoffs are the ones remaining. Defense be damned, goal scoring seems to matter more at the moment. I'll take the Sharks in 7 since they're the highest scoring team in the playoffs.

Looking forward to a great series to maybe the two most deserving teams in the west. I just hope whoever wins this series, goes on to win the cup. Would love to see a nee cup winner.

Sharks in 6. I think Pavelski is playing like a man possessed. Couture is back to elite form and Thornton appears to be a but rejuvenated.

Marleau also playing some of his best hockey.

The play by Burns with 5 seconds left kind of left me with the feeling that the guys on the sharksbare having the time of their lives and really believe this is the year. Jones was laughing at Burns and cherping him while Burns was going back to the bench, Burns smiling and feeling the shame, the crowd going nuts for the final 2 minutes..

Everything seems to be clicking for the Sharks.

I can see Pittsburgh maybe beating SJ in the final due to playoff success in the past and knowing what it takes.

But I think SJ beats STL and Tampa if Tampa should advance.

Sharks were incredibly lucky to get a wild card team in round two...Should have been Dallas vs. the Preds

in other words Blues in 5 or 6

Should take into account that the Blues have played two straight 7 game series, whereas the Sharks have only played the one (although I'm not even sure if you want to count that, given that they didn't actually bother playing game 6).

Of course it's not a coincidence - you need to score more goals than the other teams to win games.

They also are 3 of the top 5 in goals against with St.Louis (a notoriously strong defensive team) being the team that fell to 8th.

Score lots of goals, and allow very few, and it's a pretty good recipe for success.

I'm thinking the Blues take it - they're strong on defence, and have enough firepower to outscore the Sharks. I won't be upset if SJS win it though.

I really want a team from the west to win the cup this year.
