I think the biggest thing is that he has been with a pretty dang good Blackhawks team the last couple of years, and probably gained some valuable experience working with Quenneville. I believe he also brought a not so good Florida team to the playoffs that one year.

Pretty much this. He was already a decent coach with the Panthers and has likely learned a thing or two under Quenneville

They want someone with "presence" right? right?
At least he wouldn't tolerate what he perceived as bad goaltending.

Craig Conroy

Can you imagine?

Hey guys you know what? We're only down 3 goals but we can come back we got these guys right where we want em....right Marty tell em!!!

In all seriousness I think no one ever thought he'd be a asst GM and his enthusiasm and positive energy....who doesn't love Conny.

He scouts, he's great with the media....loved more like it. I think he's got more knowledge than allot of guys about our organization, players .

It'd be cool

We just had 4 years of Keenan, exciting hockey because the team can't defend. Need someone who can balance scoring with defense. No more extremes, seems it's either all offense (Keenan and Hartley) or all defense (B Sutter, Playfair).

Why is Ralph Krueger on this list?? He's the head front-office staff of a Premier League team: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southa...-playing_staff the hand-picked favorite of the Billionaire owner. He's not going anywhere.

Does anyone know what's up with Troy Ward? Resigned his position in USHL after only one year... http://www.oursportscentral.com/serv...h-gm/n-5128086

I would rather have Carlyle than Dineen. Things went very bad for him in Florida and outside of the players despising him and his practice methods something else must of happened to turn teams away as teams have given him the cold shoulder in regards to head coaching jobs. Maybe he has learned how to do things better but I don't want the Flames to be the team that hopes he's better the second time around.

I think the Fan brought him up in conversation once. Although, they seem to just be naming every name they can think of hoping that maybe one will be accurate.

His team was bad and missed the playoffs. Don't know if he takes the blame though.

For me, it was a toss-up between Travis Green and Kevin Dineen. I went with Dineen, because I feel like his potential coaching style might be more suitable for the Flames current roster.

He'd have to buy a stake in the team, though
