Calgary artist Mandy Stobo, known best for her work "Bad Potraits" has put together a limited shirt run with all proceeds going to the Red Cross. She did this as well in the 2013 flood with the "Scuba Nenshi" print.

If you want to count donations like this mine was $75.[/FONT]

$100 from me.
I've not lived in Alberta for a long time but I was once at a camp in the Rockies with a threatening forest fire a few hills over and it was terrifying. Can't imagine what it is like for Ft Mac residents; the footage shown on the BBC has been astonishing.

Just a random thought: during this crisis (and past ones) it's been said that helping strangers when things go crazy is a very "prairie thing", and it's true. I think helping out like this is also a Canadian thing. And seeing so many people apologizing for not being able to give/do more...that makes it a VERY Canadian thing!

That's why I decided not to include the Government matches. It's hard to keep tabs on what would be matched by them and what wouldn't. It's safe to assume that as we're probably over $30,000 now with undisclosed donations included, it'll be close to $100,000 that members of this forum have contributed to relief for the Red Cross.
Outstanding.

Just got an email from Petro-Canada. Petro points can be donated to the Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal. 1000 points = $1 and Suncor Energy Foundation will match dollar for dollar. I have 115,000 points I now have a use for!

I have been thinking about the subreddit RandomActsOfPizza where they send pizzas to fire stations and hospitals and such. I figure that would be awesome if you could send a dozen pizzas up to the first responders. Obviously pizza places won't deliver up there but do you think it could be possible to pay a food truck to get up to the area and hand out free food? It is a mobile self sustained kitchen. I am sure they could make a ton of people's day brighter if the logistics could be figured out. You would need cash, a willin food truck and permission. All three things seem fairly attainable with a bit of work. I am sure if word got out that you could buy a fire fighter a hot meal people would be all over it.

Bought a lemonade from a kid by river park who had a sign that said all proceeds going to Red Cross so add another $0.25 to that total boys.
