This is the kid who, at 19, co-founded an analytics company (Stathletes) which apparently supplies data to at least two NHL teams. Since his hiring with the Coyotes, it has been ran by his sister and her boyfriend.

Oh, and for those "watch the game" "you don't know if you've never played" types: he has a profile on HockeyDB - do you?

Tippet's role was expected to be larger, but I bet it ends up even larger than we expected

I've met John a few times when he started Stathletes a few years back. He's a sharp kid with a bright future, but I'm still floored by this news. Good for him - good guy.

Yeah, looks like he was a point per game player in the MJAHL, whatever league that is, and then it was all downhill from there.

But hey, lets see what he can do.

I bet that Kyle guy on Toronto is tearing his hair out right now. He was just one-upped by a junior.

If the other 29 HC in the NHL coached like Tippett it would be a very dulled down league low on skill and overall excitement.

26?! That's pretty surprising... But does that mean he was Asst GM at 24!? Noe sure what he could have done in that timeframe to merit that job?
