Kopitar is probably the 2nd or 3rd best centre in the world today, right up there with Toews, and behind but not too far behind Crosby.

Bergeron is easily top 10 in that discussion as well.

I hope Kesler finds Jesus, and moves to Peru to save starving llamas or something, and never plays another game of hockey in his life.

Kopitar is my favorite non Flame.
Bergeron is not far behind.
Kesler isn't winning this, so I'll be happy either way.

I don't disagree, but I'd take Kopitar over Toews, but that's me.

Also, it's weird that Toews isn't nominated over Kesler, superior stats and same position.

Frankly I'm happy if they start moving towards giving out the selke for what the selke is actually for. On that basis, Kopitar is the one who has no business being nominated... Not because he isn't an excellent hockey player, but because he isn't used as a defensive forward, as Bergeron and Kesler are. Bergeron should basically win this every year.

Yeah, and that's dumb too. Why are points important in any way to this award? "The Frank J. Selke Trophy is an annual award given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game." Where do points even enter into that?

IMO, David Backes should have been nominated.
