2nd is as good as first in this draft IMO. No other teams from the Pacific in the top 3? Easy 10

This is a 9 for me. Calgary wins a slot, Edmonton and Vancouver out of the top three, the other two winners are in the east. If Buff and Calgary swapped positions this would have been a 10.

Matthews would be great, but I also think one of the Finns would more easily slot into our lineup right away as wingers. There is an obvious hole in our top 6. Matthews would create a bit of a glut at Centre, actually. Would like to see Bennett press on as a centre, rather than sort of have to be converted to wing, even though he is surely capable.

It would actually be pretty funny if Buffalo won first overall from 23rd place given they lost each of the last two lotteries after some of the worst tanking ever seen.

I don't think the Oilers would pick Bean 4th overall though. Especially ahead of the big 3 D-man

Laine has gained ground and by picking 2nd you as a fan base never have to wonder if you picked the right guy as you took the one that wasn’t taken

This is such a great statement you made in your analysis.

In my eyes, Pulljujarvi is getting right up there with the other 2. I think I'd be just as happy with getting #3 as I would with #2 overall.

I don't even care about TO in there.

Flames get a player who could arguably go first depending on needs, and Edmonton and Vancouver bumped down.

Love it.
