I used to look my age. Then 3 years ago we had our first kid. Now I look like zombie. Sometimes I look in the mirror and kind of scare myself.

I'm in my mid thirties and still get ID'd, which makes me happy. But yeah, if I'm not wearing a hat it's a bit of a giveaway, my hairline hasn't really receded, but it's thinning so I shave it a #1. Hat I prob look 24-25ish, no hat prob 28-30. I'll still take it, at 33..

Theory: Maybe this just reminds them of an age hierarchy (ie: looked down on you because you're younger)? I mean, it happens with guys too as J Pold mentioned, but the effects are arguably to a lesser degree.
That, or acquiring the lego piece you need and saw 14,000 time earlier and now can't find, has many similarities to searching for that item in a large cluttered purse.

If I have a bit of extra weight on me, I look like a jolly 25 year old. Take that weight off, and I look like a gaunt 30 year old.

I don't really mind. I'm in a business where age and perceived experience are pretty key so I'm fine with people thinking I am older.

I've always thought that you looked like a gigantic 10 year-old.

I'm in my mid-40s and have twice been mistaken for being in my mid-20s recently. I think those two people might just be idiots though.

I joke that I haven't really slept in the 10 years that I've been a Dad. The last 2 years I've been getting up at 5am to go to work and that hasn't helped, either.

I'm 32 (just about 33) but I get mistaken for 25-27 all the time. Must be because I'm single and don't have kids.

I think I look older with a beard. I rarely get ID'd these days buying booze, but when I don't have a beard, I get ID'd quite regularly. I always thought I looked a little older than my peers because of my darker hair/eyes/complexion. I'm late 20s. My hair and hairline is still intact, but there is minor thinning starting at the top, but you can't see it when facing me. Only from the back can you see it.
I agree with the OP that being in shape makes you look younger.

Depends on if I have a beard or not. With a beard, I'm older, grizzled Viking-like. Without, I look like I just finished University and haven't been beat down by the world yet (even though I totally have).

We went on a two week vacation to an all-inclusive. We slept tons didn't have to cook, clean or run the kids around. I came back looking ten years younger.
In my youth I looked way below my age until about 35.

I constantly get placed in my forties from people, even though I'm 36. My grey hair, being married since I was 23 and having kids when I was 25 probably don't help.
I keep in decent shape but the relentless years of parenting and being a spouse have taken it's toll.

I'm 36 and most people think I'm 30. So that's not bad. My wife on the hand is 34 and people think she's 14. That obviously makes me uncomfortable.
For guys I think fitness is huge. Also, if you are balding, keep your hair short or shaved. The skullet adds like 20 years. A fit guy with a shaved head could be 28 or 48.

35, but I get told late 20s. I used to get told early to mid 20s, then in the last two years the grays starting popping out more and my hair got a bit coarse. I'm hoping that when all the grays finally do settle, I'll have a sweet Reed Richards thing going on. Right now it just looks like random Gray pubes intermixed with my regular hair.

The last time I got ID'd was around 37. My 30 year-old co-workers are surprised to hear that I am much older than they are. Some actually think that I'm younger than they are. I'm 41.

I'm 46, and I look younger due to no hair loss and very little greying, which I attribute to my Native blood. But on the inside I feel about 56.
