interesting little tidbit....

History Refresher: Flames lost 5-1 to Van in game 82 in 2013-14. Had Calgary won, they draft 5th, not 4th, and likely don't get Sam Bennett.

And had they won several more games prior to that or lost a few prior to that....

I remember that whole last weekend working out really well for us with that game and the OOT.

Cheering for 4-3 loss with a Monahan/Gaudreau hat trick.

We beat them in the Playoffs last year, they can have this meaningless win if it means we have a better chance at immediate help next year.

I'm cheering for a win, I can't in good faith cheer for a loss especially against the canucks. Go Flames Go!

5-1

Islanders winning their last game by tying Buffalo up late, then winning in a shoot out was big that season.

That was the difference between us or NY getting Bennett.

No, no.. just poking a bit of a fun at the fans in Van who thought what they thought...

I never want to see a Flames loss to the Canucks – moreso after they got spanked by the Oilers. I want to spank them even harder and push their fanbase into an even deeper state of depression. I want them to drive the light further down the tunnel.

Better lottery odds aren't worth the relief the Canucks will sigh if they win tonight.

Thing is, with 1 lottery for 1 spot in the last few years, playing for position truly mattered.

But for me, we could win tonight and win one of the 3 lotteries. Or, we could lose and lose all 3 lotteries.

Realistically, we won't finish 3rd last. So, we have the option of winning out and finishing 25th(7.5% 1st OA, 23.5% top 3) or losing out and finishing 27th(9.5% 1st OA, 29% top 3). Is that difference really worth losing to the Canucks for? Not for me. Win the last 2, take our chances in the lottery.

There's no way on hell we lose to that abortion of a hockey team.

That's what SJ, ANA and LA thought too, but they all lost to the Canucks in the last two weeks. VAN appears to play up their competition and play down to their opposition.

Here's hoping that our rivalry means they won't bend over for us,

True but we have done nothing but dominate them the last few years.

Insert Pulp Fiction quote "that's pride f***ing with yo @$$".

Teams tied with 73 pts, Flames hold 5th spot due to more wins.

2 wins at the end of the season are going to hurt long term more than help.. Sadly.

Flames should be amped up to win their final home game of the season and the Canucks looked like they folded the tent last night against the Oilers. Don't think this game will play out well for the Flames in regards to the their draft position.

why not just have even odds for the bottom 8 teams and slightly worse odds for the other 6

no more awkward games to end the season...In a cap system its so close anyway from year to year. Last night the TSN headline "Leafs improve draft odds with critical loss"
