I guarantee you that tickets were bought by Habs fans that didn't want to bother going to the game anymore. Happens with some of these big draw road teams. I'm pretty sure the game is listed as a sellout..

The Panthers smell like a team that will get knocked out in the first round

Saad with the natural hat trick. Quietly having a pretty good year.

BJs up 3-1 with Saad's first NHL hat trick and they have a 1.5 min 5 on 3 to start the 3rd. OOT showing some promise, hang in there CBJ and BUF!

Jackets up 4-1 end of second.
Boone Jenner got it. Carolina can't stay out of the box.

It's possible, I'll grant. First time in the playoffs for most of their best players. They've been a little sloppy defensively lately, but I have no doubt they'll be ready for the start of the first game. Losing Mitchell has hurt this team quite a bit. He is their captain after all, and he calms things down when he's in the lineup. Sounds like he might be back in time for the playoffs, but it's just as likely he never plays another game. Still, they have the experience of Jagr, Hudler, and Campbell to draw on in terms of how to prepare for the playoffs.

When the Panthers play their game they are downright dominant. They're fast, big, defend well (most of the year), and they have great goaltending. They have a handful of elite offensive players who can turn the game around by themselves. To me, that's a recipe for a long playoff run, but it's also possible that they crap the bed and become overwhelmed by everything. I'm more inclined to think they'll resemble the team they've been all year, but who knows until you're actually put in the pressure cooker.

If the playoffs started today they'd play either the red hot, but defensively porous Flyers, or the battle tested, but relatively untalented Red Wings. Heck, even the Islanders would be a pretty favorable matchup right now. But of course, I should say that the East's playoff teams are very, very close in terms of talent, outside of the Caps obviously, so no team is really easy. That's the way it should be IMO.

Shaw Customers: anyone else have no video on 219 right now?

Also, Detroit now up 3-1 in what is a must-win game.

Currently Florida would play the Islanders because they're the first wildcard and Florida is the lower of the the two division leaders.
The probable matchups for them according to this site:
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/E...c/Florida.html

NY Islanders:43.4%
Boston: 18.0 %
Philadelphia : 17.8%
NY Rangers 10.2%
Detroit: 7.2%

Edit: I guess with the scores tonight it changes things as Tampa will likely pass Florida.

Yes, my bad. I was looking at it backwards for a minute there.

Panthers were down 3-0 half way through the second. They've scored 3 straight to tie it up, and could have had as many as 5 or 6 if not for posts or unlucky bounces. If they win, this would be only the 3rd time ever they've come back from 3 goals down to win a game.

It's Bob Cole calling this game, he makes the odd mistake.

Montreal 3 Florida 3. Condon is keeping the Canadiens in this game. Good third period action.
