Pretty crappy scoreboard tonight for the inverse standings. Coyotes, Canucks, Sabres all lost. Leafs and Blue Jackets won.

Come on now teams have tanked in the past many times...maybe not the players themselves but management for sure.

Urban dictionary:

The word tanking, in terms of sport, would be used to describe a bad performance

Tanking is the act of giving up a match or "throwing it away", losing intentionally or not competing.

Yes they do, just depends on your perspective. Last season, the Sabres management set them up to lose. They cobbled together a god awful team to ensure they finished bottom. Whilst the coach and players that took to the ice every night didn't play to lose, the GM and upper management played to lose.

The Canucks aren't smart enough to tank, that would them coming up with a plan and executing it. Just hope they don't play themselves into a situation where they win one of the top 3 lottery picks over us, that would suck. Can you imagine a 1-2-3 of Edmonton, Leafs and Canucks? The Flames wouldn't get a minute of air time next season.

Hopefully the lottery balls bounce our way for once. Bunch of fata-ing losers in this league, even when the Flames have a terrible year they can't even get a sniff of the top o' the prospect pile. Thank goodness the talent pool at the top was deep in 2013 and 2014 or our rebuild might be in trouble.

The Bruins scored in the second period to make 2-1 Kings and that was it for scoring. The Kings hung on for the 2-1 win and have officially clinched a playoff spot.

The Lightning win 2-0 and the Blues 3-0.
