I don't think its setup for thousands. I think its pretty good to have this, and events organized all week not just a couple hours on Sunday. And, everything's free. If people from these cities don't want to show up, that's up those people.

The other option is doing/organizing nothing at all, and then there'd be complaints that Snet has lost touch with the common fan etc etc.

I've been to similar events as Hometown Hockey and the reason we didn't go down is because the lines for the attractions tend to be too long for kids to endure. They don't have the ability to wait in line for more than a couple of minutes. If you have to wait 20 or 30 minutes to do something it just becomes such a hassle.

I'm actually surprised that Hometown Hockey came to Calgary. There schedule was all smaller cities without NHL teams (exceptions being Calgary and Winnipeg.) I seems like Red Deer or Lethbridge would be more inline with the other host cities.

my picks didnt turned out as i hoped, only thing ya need to know is that it was Scorch's face stretched out enough to have a human face in the middle. I really have to give the guy props though, from my conversation with him i dont think he thought there would be a few of us around who knew scorch. I wasnt too blown away with the event itself, watching Gord Bamford was cool, but everything else was too crowded to really do any of the interactive things. Was fun enough wandering around with my GF. But that man... That lone ranger ensuring that Scorch remains in our hearts was the highlight of the event for me

I also saw Scorch. That was hilarious. Best part of an otherwise-boring night.

I thought the event was good, I wasn't expecting a beer garden or anything. My only complaint was they didn't utilize the stage properly - they should have placed a large projection of the game over there instead of jumping between 4 places to watch the game.

Also Tara Slone
