I see Brodie and Giordano playing together. Good showcase for possible spot in the World Cup.

Monahan should be playing as well, even though he's already playing in the World Cup. The extra experience would be good for him. Though I wonder having no contract for next season could impact his decision.

Maybe Dougie Hamilton and Bennett make the team if enough veteran players pass on the tournament.

I am not sure there will be the same pressure to join Team Canada at the Worlds as an audition for the World Cup, as there would be for an Olympics. As such, this team could be quite young, which I think would be compelling in its own right.

Monahan/Bennett (if healthy) Domi/ Duclair/ McDiver/ Scheifele/ Turris/ Hoffman/ Gallagher plus a few more older/grinder guys could be fun up front.
Gio/Brodie/Hamilton/Subban/Myers/Methot/Reilly would be decent as well.

(Just picking names without looking too deep. Go easy)

Edit: Way too many rookies, I get that, but I like the recent WJC guys.

I would imagine any guy who wants to play on the World Cup team and gets invited to the World Championships will likely go.
