Not looking good for Shore's pro aspirations. Been passed by Hamilton and Grant for a callup at centre. My best guess is he's off to Europe next year.

While Backy has had his share of injury problems throughout his career, plenty of teams outside the playoff hunt have shut-down some their better players. Just part of the meta-game of pursuing the top of the inverse standings. He probably has a nasty hangnail, which is technically an upper-body injury.

Backlund was missing a lot of practices a month or so ago, but still playing. He has likely been nursing something for a while, so they may have decided it's time to shut him down for a bit rather than continuing to play through it.
