Good for him! Even better for fans if we get to see him play! Gladly Surprised they didn't recall Raymond.
What is the lineup for tonight and does Agostino draw in?
I'm assuming Jooris back to Center for the time being also?

As an emergency recall Agostino has to draw in.
No lines yet as morning skate hasn't happened.

I believe he has to play. You can't recall him on an emergency if you have 12 healthy forwards so Bennett has to sit for him or he has to be sent back down if Bennett is ready.

What? I don't think anybody should be surprised they didn't call up Raymond. They wanna see their prospects, they know what Mason Raymond can or cannot do at the NHL level.

Agostino's AHL Stat Line since March 06, 2015:
72GP 27G 41A 68P
At 6'0 / 200 and with NHL skating, he's got an opportunity to show he belongs in the big leagues.

So what does this mean for Poirier?
Two wingers have jumped ahead of him now.

It means nothing in the grand scheme. Two more years left on his ELC. Though it might mean he could get more PP time etc down in Stockton.

Absolutely nothing. Those other 2 wingers are much older than him and more experienced. Hathaway is 24, and Agostino is 23. Poirier is 21 and struggling a little this year. The other two earned it over him for now, but he's got plenty of time.

I don't think it means anything just yet. Poirier is younger/greener than those called up ahead of him. He still has lots of developing to do at the pro level

Long time coming for Agostino, could be a make or break opportunity for him in the organization. Hope he gets a real look.

Not sure what you mean jumped ahead of him.
What does it mean for Poirier? It means the 23 year old Agostino is more fully developed than the 21 year old Poirier. Which shouldn't be very surprising. Still lots of time left for Poirier to develop and according to interviews with the coaches his game has been developing this year despite not having amazing numbers. Coach Huska has said Poirier is using to learn his speed more effectively by blowing past defenders to the outside instead of trying to bowl through multiple defenders.
People need to be patient with the young prospects. I know Poirier is a 1st rounder so some people think they should step in sooner but a guy like Backlund was also a late 1st rounder and didn't start having NHL success til what, 23/24? The majority of prospects take a few years in the minors. Still very early for Poirier, Shinkaruk and Klimchuk and no reason to be super worried about any of them at this point IMO.
Agostino, Hamilton, Hathaway and Grant have had really good seasons so they are the most obvious first call ups (except Grant is still injured.)

That has the potential to be an elite shut down 3rd line down the road

"Nothing serious, nothing broken ... But it still might be a few days." - Bob Hartley on the status both on Sam Bennett & TJ Brodie
Hartley says "mid-body" injuries to Bennett and Brodie will keep them out a little longer than first thought. Still day-to-day

How does the league determine what an "injury" constitutes in the context of determining length of absence and in terms of cap and call-up implications?
