Johnny made so many good little plays in the OT I wish I could list them all.
- recognizing the situation and staying on, instead of changing.
- the one tiny extra stickhandle to get the d-man (Weber?) to open his legs to pass it to Backs
- the way he accepted the breakout pass from Gio was not easy
- passing back to Ortio, recognizing he had no other play.
You forgot him sticking to Filip Forsberg as if he's Lidstrom. Winger? More like HoFer!
Johnny has that rare combination of elite skill and creativity. He thinks the game on a different level and can execute at the highest of
Levels. Scary talent.
I like how Ortio does his interviews. Seems to have a level head on his shoulders, always crediting the team in front of him,yet he sounds very confident. Shows on the ice with his recent play. Glad Johnny was able to will it into a W. He was all over the ice tonight
Jokipakka with 23:13 tonight, and he looked pretty good IMO.
He's strong, a good skater, passes well, smart defensively and doesn't panic at all. Jim Nill is by all accounts a real smart hockey man, so that trade really has me wondering. I liked Russell, but given age, size, cap hit if I'm the Flames I make that trade straight up Russell for Jokipakka, never mind getting the pick and prospect to boot.
Joni Ortio. getting stronger with each game. I mean damn he's looking good. Starting to gobble up the puck more and more. Question for Erick Estrada, I know you've stated you have someone in the know who's informed you Ortio is not part of the future plans in CGY, any chance they change their minds? From what I've seen recently they really should IMO.
Boy can Nakladal rip the puck. He's a work in progress, but has been decent. Could be a solid bottom pairing guy, I hope the Flames re-sign him.
Wotherspoon has looked decent too. Hopefully he continues to establish himself as an every day NHL D-man. Can't have too many of those ever.

The library boys in front of us left with about 2 minutes left in regulation. We were sure to finish off the game cheering loud enough for us and them.
Not that it matters much, but at about 2:25 into the 3rd the Preds iced the puck. I could swear that Neal was on the ice for the icing and Forsberg came on for him in a bit of confusion when they had 6 guys milling around before the faceoff. Can anyone confirm if I'm right or crazy? I'd do it but I'm stuck on my phone in a parking lot at the Dome.

You say that now but wait till Smid, Engellend and Wideman are both on the opening night roster next year.
Fyp.
Stupid thing is, I really like the 6 defensive guys we started with tonight and I'd have no problem with them being our core 6 heading into next season. Engellend as 7th d, job sorted. I hope Wideman is gone before next season starts, don't want Wotherspoon, Nakladal or Kevin having their opportunities lessened by him.

Calgary has given us fits in the past. Hope we can score early and often tonight. A win tonight and St. Louis loss and things get mighty interesting.
I want no part of the Hawks. None what so ever. Dallas and Anaheim are better match ups for us.

Is it just me or is the camera for this game not clear? It seems like it is just the camera following the action that is like this.
It's making me dizzy watching it.

Guys are playing horrific defense tonight. Sorry Carter.

I really hate the name Johnny Hockey. We saw what happened to Johnny Football I would think he'd want to get rid of that nickname. Not a good start at all. The first shot was just a laser and this last one was the D men tripping each other up.
2nd in a flash

nice the Dmen knock each other down and let him walk in. This is horrible.
