Thinking she won't be as catastrophic as Trump is not the same as supporting her (almost everyone in that thread thinks she's awful...). Just like saying dog #### is yummier to eat than cow ####, that doesn't mean dog #### is good to eat, it's just not as gross as cow ####.

The big difference is we already know how catastrophic Hillary has been in office. We have seen first hand how many people have been killed under her watch..."what does it matter" right??
You are ASSUMING Trump will be "catastrophic". You have zero to base that on other than your own opinion. Just because he is not a career politician doesn't make him an idiot. In my opinion we need real change in government, not the promise of that by a career politician who just carries on status quo.

Americans can buy our sh*t and there is no tax for THAT!
While we are listening to Mr. Trudeau's garble, americans and foreigners are buying up our equipment, materials, houses, cars, trucks, and almost everything else without paying duty or taxes.
Our government is doing NOTHING about this.
They can bring our stuff to THEIR country, with almost no tax, but when we IMPORT we have to pay usually 10-25% duty and tax, paid to our own government. For what? Oh ya, a better 'selfie camera' for our prime minister.
Wonder why that Edmonton auction had so many foreign buyers last week?...........
|
I am confused, why is this a bad thing? Brings money into our nation?
Housing - I get - core asset prices being driven up by foreigners.

Calgarypuck based on Mayoral, Provincial and Federal election results vs Calgary puck polls shows CP as representative of Alberta as a whole.
Also the OP is a mixture of Left, Anti-free trade, pro tax protectionism and right wing anti environment stuff.

You don't think readers and posters form roughly the same demos? I think if you made a list of extreme right and extreme left posters it would balance out pretty quickly. Especially for economic / environmental arguments.
I would agree that posters and I suspect readers are more socially liberal than average but that likely skews on along the age / income demos.

Perhaps but if you dare post anything bad on cp about Trudeau, Notley or Nenshi all the lefties on calgary puck come out screaming with their arms waving up in the air.
How dare the op question the judgement and decisions of our leader.

I agree completely but you are not going to get much support around here. Although this board is centric to a western, very conservative city this board is very far left leaning (like most of the internet, so its not a huge surprise). Western Canada is going to be in pretty rough shape when Trudeau #2's reign is done, just like the 1st time.

No different than if Notley or Trudeau do something minor all the conservatives come out screaming in a bewildered panic begging someone to please think of the children and stop these evil monsters from ruining our great country and probably using words like "sheeple."
Conservatives and Liberals just have blinders on to their own casual lunacy, which makes anyone claiming the "other" party is worse just annoyingly partisan and petty.
You create your own conflict by always posing a situation as "us vs them."

It's no secret that Trudeau and the liberals in general have always favored policies that support the east.
If there's so much support in this thread on Trudeau why not post what you like about him or changes he's made that you're happy with? But of course nobody does that.
