I get it. I still don't like it.
It's the usual stuff from Burke, but it's basically like being a bully and when someone calls you on it, you call them names.
I dunno. I think we, as a society, need a little more class and attention to detail, and less of the slovenly laziness.
You're an NHL team president for crying out loud.

Personally think it looks ridiculous (not that he cares about what I think). I get the look of hey it's been a long day and I can't keep this thing done up anymore but in those pictures it's outside the button down collar. It's not like he's even pretending to wear it.

I wonder if the players are allowed to dress like that.

Meh. He's Brian Burke. He doesn't need to impress anybody.
As long as he doesn't manage (preside over?) The team like he does his hair and wardrobe, then I don't care.

I'm sure he doesn't either. That doesn't mean he doesn't look ridiculous and compounds it by making it some statement.

Does he ever have it tied? I'm guessing only very formal situations?
I think it's lame, but to each their own.

It looks like if he wears a suit jacket, he'll do up the tie. If not, then loose tie.

Why even have the tie at all? More annoying than having a tie around your neck would be having to balance that slippery thing around your neck.

If this thread is about discussing our opinions about it, well then I think it's stupid.
Wear it, or don't.

A friend of mine grew up in van, and as such, is a canucks fan ..... Anyways, when my idiot friend was about 7 or 8 he had a chance to meet the nucks and burke was there so he asked burke for an autograph and handed him his hat.
Burke snatched the hat and grumpily scribbled on it before returning it to my friend while saying "I hate hats".
thats how he approached an autograph to a young fan.
Im certain the tie thing is much the same, just his pugnacity coming through. Nothing to worry about, its just Burkes personality. I like it.

Somewhat ironic that a guy who believed Flames players should only wear traditional numbers on their sweaters does not believe in following convention when dressing up.
Personally I think it looks stupid and if he is doing it to prove a point to media or someone else, I think that makes it worse.

The Mystery of Brian Burke's Untied Ties
I like it. And thank god he doesn't feel the same way about belts.

It bugs me more when he ties the tie but undoes the top button on the shirt. It's barely acceptable at weddings where you've been drinking and dancing polkas/chicken dances.

Except he is wearing it how he wants and he doesn't bring up his ties, everyone else whining about his ties does.
