If Toronto wants a good shot at the first overall pick this year they will have to take drastic measures to shake off Edmonton. Current standings suggest Toronto isn't doing enough. Some serious tanking is order, 10 AHL players on the roster is definitely not enough.

I'd rather see Cowen than Smid for similar money. Or if you can arrange a trade with the Leafs and they retain a bit of salary, I think it'd be worth it.

He honestly is that bad IMO. Every time I've watched Ottawa he's noticeably their worst defenseman
