Matthias ties it up at 1-1 later in the period. The second period has just started.

After one period in the Sabres-Ducks game, 0-0 tie. Sami Vatanen scored a power play goal early in the second period, 1-0 Anaheim.

The Sharks-Avalanche game remains tied 1-1 after two periods. Colorado has a 24-16 edge in shots.

Even if everyone comes back from injury, they are still three players short of icing an NHL calibre team. Their bottom three are a wasteland. I wonder if they would have more interest in solidifying that as well.

Jarome buries the patented one-timer to tie it up with the Sharks. Seen that a thousand times. Well, apparently 607, but you know what I mean.

Default February 24, just four games.

Iggy looked a bit off-balance, too. What a shot.

Lehner holding the Sabres in it. He's been really good since returning from injury and with that type of goaltending the Sabres are going to have a good chance of passing us unless Ortio goes on a magical run.

Sabres down 0-1 to the Ducks at the 2nd intermission.

Landeskog with the go ahead goal, 3-2 Colorado. It is late in the third period with less than four minutes left.

Horrible icing by Erik Johnson before that goal. Just make the smart play!

At first I really didn't like the gimmicky nature of 3-on-3 OT. But now I must admit, it's awfully exciting.

Fun OT. SJ (didn't see who) splits the D at the blue line and goes in alone, denied by Pickard. Seconds later, Barrie picks up dropped stick by the wrong end and tries to poke it off the SJ it like using a pool cue. Long stretch pass to Burns for a breakaway with under a minute, and Comeau with a last second snapper denied. Whew! Off to the SO

Unfortunately Sabres get shut out 1-0 by Andersen. Still a good game by Lehner holding the Ducks to 1. He may drag them out of the basement in this stretch run.
