I don't think it's a terrible move by the Canucks. For a 5th, why not. Pretty low risk.

Larsen upon hearing the news he's no longer with the Oilers organization:

Credit where it is due. The Oilers turned nothing into something marginally greater than nothing.

As far as Larsson goes, I feel bad for the dude. He's not going to realize he got dealt to Edmonton 2.0 until it is too late.

@TSNBobMcKenzie
Conditional aspect of 5th round pick in EDM-VAN deal is it could become 4th-round pick if Larsen hits specified production thresholds.

Larson was their big return for Shawn Horcoff.

I do understand what you mean though.

Probably the Norris. I'm sure at least the Oilers management saw him winning a Norris at some point.

Trading for a dman that can't stick with the Oilers? What could go wrong?

Love the overreaction Canuck fans on HF have had regarding the last 2 trades. Some appear to be losing their minds over a 5th which is ridiculous. The Shinkaruk teade was very minor as well but that was at least a fairly recent 1st round pick.

Also love when ex Oilers rip the organization

I wonder why 2017... Did Van already trade their 2016 5th Rounder? Or is Chia still so untrusting of Oiler scouts that he plans on trading away all of their 2016 picks too?

I think it will play out like Lance Hendricks did when he rejected the greasers.

Oilers will trade for Larsen when he signs for Vancouver (1st, 2nd, 1st and 2nd, whatever it takes), and then they will have the player AND the draft pick.

That's Kevin Lowe style winning!

No greater springboard to development than being traded away from the Oilers.

Couldn't stick?

Try didn't want to play for.

I think it's due to the conditional nature of the pick.
